Ildiko Skeldon is a Senior RCM Examiner with over 30 years of examining experience. Her role as a Senior Examiner has taken her to centres throughout Canada, as well as numerous centres all over California, Washington State and Colorado. She is a certified teacher with RCM in both piano and theory, for Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced levels.
A member of the Canadian Music Festival Adjudicators Association, she has adjudicated extensively through the provinces of BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and the junior, intermediate and senior levels. Her adjudication includes solo, ensemble, concerto and composition classes.
Her influential teachers have been Audrey Mallinson, Kum-Sing Lee, Pawel Checinski, Robert Silverman, Dale Reubart, Robert Rogers, Ivan Moravec, and Anton Kuerti. She also had summer studies at the prestigious Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary.
Ms. Skeldon has presented teacher workshops and masterclasses on all levels of solo repertoire and gives frequent mock exams to students of private teachers, music schools and academies.
She served as the Richmond Branch President from 1991 to 1997, and was a member of the BC Provincial Council in various positions and capacities, for over 20 years.
She is currently a Member at Large in an advisory position to the Richmond Branch, and also acts as the Programs Chairperson.
Her teaching methods of over 40 years, include Traditional and European approaches, and her philosophy is to ensure that each and every student achieves his or her own absolute highest personal potential!
